The Governing Body plays a vital role in the strategic leadership of Bedwas Infant School. Working in partnership with the Headteacher, governors help to ensure that every child receives the best possible education in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Governors are responsible for setting the school’s vision, values, and long-term priorities. They provide both support and challenge to the leadership team, monitor school performance, and ensure that resources are used effectively to benefit all learners.

The Governing Body is made up of a dedicated team of volunteers, including parents, staff, and members of the local community. Together, they bring a wide range of skills and experience to their role, helping to shape the direction of the school and uphold high standards.

Governors also ensure that the school meets its statutory responsibilities, including safeguarding, health and safety, and equality. While they do not manage the day-to-day running of the school, they work closely with school leaders to support continuous improvement.
